Badsey
A Proven Winner

This is a few unsolicited messages that have been posted to EV bulleitin boards on the internet regarding how people feel about their Badsey Scooters.

We consider these to be, just a few of our success stories

Just thought you would want to know- Snow White was waiting for me when we got back from our vacation. I tore open the box, flipped the handle bar up, checked the battery and connected them, put on my helmet and turned the key- One foot on and a small turn of the handle and i was off!!!!!!!

I love it I am already slaloming down our street ( yes small un-travelled). I am going to try the seat this afternoon. I am 54 years old and feel like a kid taking to my scooter and as a step mom calling it Snow white was a given! We have an RV it will be great to take along in our tow car ( could have used it at the Sacramento jazz Jubilee this last weekend!

Fun easy to ride and balance, quiet and speedy! LOVE IT- Thank you

Jane Olds

Well boys and girls, took my first ride today on the latest Racer.

To put it simply, YOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

First off, it's intimadating just sitting there. Had only seen pictures in the past and found it to be a bit smaller than I thought it might be. This is a good thing.

So I mounted the thing and very easily pushed the throttle and I was underway. I maneuvered around the block to a parking lot about 100 yards long and began to pour on the speed. Yow! This thing flies! So I decided I better see if the brakes work on this thing before I need them. Sure enough, the new disc brake works amazingly well. I also had to stop to pull my baseball cap down a bit on my head because the speed I was reaching was about to blow the thing off before I stopped.

So, maneuvered the thing back to where I started and decided to take it across the street and up a hill to see how it performed. there was a car about a third of a block down the street and thought I had plenty of time to cross but guess I got a little anxious. Punched the
throttle a little too hard and guess what. WOW! The thing stood up on me! Luckily I was prepared, took a couple steps, sat it back down gently, jumped on again and raced (yea, I know) off. Of course the hill was non existent for this beast.

As for handling and ride, very nice. With the square profile of the
front tire, riding at any speed above about 5-8 miles per hour is like any other two wheeled vehicle, most turning is done by leaning. Below that speed of 5-8 mph you must actually turn the handle bars. I did not find this objectionable and caught on quickly. As for the ride, I'd say quite smooth. The bulk and size of the tires makes for a somewhat cushioned ride.

In conclusion, this thing is delightfully dangerous. The fit and
finish of this product is second to none. It is a work of art, period.

As for the folks at Badsey, congratulations on your fine product and you must know that Bill is smiling upon you all. You folks are defining a new industry.

ciao for now,

Jay

Hi Guys
I just wanted to take a minute to let you know how my  HOT SCOOT is doing.

I  LOVE MY HOT SCOOT. Yesterday I rode it for about 6 miles almost the whole way full throttle, what a blast this thing ROCKS!!!!

The motor never even got to hot, you could still touch it. The new locking pin works SO NICE AND EASY. When I got home I plugged it in and I am so happy to be able to see the charger light. Everyone that sees the HOT SCOOT  likes it and they think the yellow color is awesome.

I also rode my gas scooter yesterday, which I just had some performance modifications done to it. I took my HOT SCOOT with me to pick up the gas scooter in Denver; I had to show  it to Ray the owner of Toy Shop Racing, I am so proud of it, Ray was also very impressed. I let him ride it and he came back saying WOW!!

Anyway my point is that yesterday, I rode  both my newly hoped up Bigfoot Go-Ped and my HOT SCOOT, back to back. The Go-Ped blew the base gasket. So back to the shop it goes. My HOT SCOOT  never missed a beat and went faster on my loop than the hoped up gas scooter.

I know this is getting wordy but I had to try to tell you how cool  My HOT SCOOT is.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THE ENJOYMENT YOU ALL PROVIDE.

Best Regards,
Si Niswonger

...Just got through doing a picture shoot for local TV.  One of the players weighed in at 537 lbs.

Guess what? he mounted our hot scoot and rode it standing up! The hot scoot never flinched.

I must say that hot scoot is continually amazing!

Mark,
Well, were to begin,

First, Quality,,,, OUTSTANDING !! I love the quality.. I am a bit of a quality and high end toy nut and indeed it is that..!

I have only had our scooters ( 2 racers) since Sept. My son and I run them until they are like nearly dead and they never over heat or shut down do to heat. We even run them up a 2 mile hill that is about a 30% grade at full throttle  and they perform reallllllly great.

Price is certainly high.but quality and workman ship is really great and overall well worth it.. It gets all kind of attention, Is a blast to ride.

I am having so much fun with my son with it, that is all . My wife rides em too and loves em. I keep looking for another less expensive one for my daughter but nothing compares to a badsey once you have one... It is like the scooter of all scooters...

             Mike Kurtz,

This Hot Scoot goes as fast up hill, as a Zappy does on the way down!

That's surely a good way to define it. :-)

The HOT SCOOT by
Scott MacGregor

This is going to be a very popular machine!

I spent 4 hours today checking out one of my newly arrived Badsey Hot Scoots.

Let me start, by summarizing my overall impression: I love it!
Solid, substantial, clean, well engineered...these are the adjectives that come immediately to mind.

The Hot Scoot was appropriately packaged in a well marked box. (up arrows count!) No damage of any kind was found.

When I went to hook up the batteries, I was pleasantly surprised with the "pop up" hood! THAT is a great idea! Super convenient! Just turn the fastener with a coin, and lift the entire deck like the hood of a car. This exposes the innards of the beast completely, for easy access!

The component layout under the "hood" is excellent. This thing actually "looks" like it means business!

I noticed that Badsey Hot Scoot is using a Soneil 24V 1.5A on-board smart charger. Great choice!

The substantial, automotive relay/key switch is a solid design addition.

Frame construction is super deluxe! Plenty of heavy gauge metal there!

General fit and finish is excellent. Virtually mint out of the box.

The "man-eating" controller is well heat-sinked, and potted to keep out tinkerers. (like me).

The seat is great. It would be tough to find a quicker on/off arrangement! Nice heavy gauge tube. I haven't tried it yet, but the oversized saddle looks as comfortable as my sofa!

Nice "full ground contact" kick stand! No sinking in the asphalt!

My size 10-1/2s can fit sideways on the deck with lots of room to spare! Very comfortable riding positions are possible with the expansive surface area. The tail extension is just slightly higher than the main deck. Very comfortable!

The broad tires add a lot of stability to in-line runs, but I will need to get used to them in the turns. The scooter "tracks" like its in a groove! Slow speed control is
amazing! The Magura throttle, coupled with the oversized motor controller, provides extremely smooth speed control. (far smoother and controllable than anything I’ve ridden)

Handlebar position and height is just right for me at 5'11".

The brakes are superb! What else is there to say. (full size levers add a secure feel as well) Compared to other scooters I’ve tried, these are "power" brakes!

The mud flap is a nice, practical touch, keeping dirt and debris from flying up from the front tire. Also, the protective spiral wrap around the wiring, as it passes through the front-end folding mechanism, is a quality touch!

As for performance: I clocked this particular unit at 18.4 MPH. The ramp-up setting seems a "little" tame to me, but, compared to other scoots I've ridden, it's more than adequate. I must say, it blows away the Currie Flyer for sheer speed and power! I know I shouldn’t compare the two, considering the price difference, but after riding the Hot Scoot, I’m spoiled!

I rode it up a 1/4 mile hill on a road behind my shop. It’s impressive! I haven't measured the incline of this hill, but it's one of those hills you don’t want to stop on with a stick shift car. (if you know what I mean) Rough estimate: 15% incline. Not a problem for the Hot Scoot.

It's a great scooter, Badsey...No doubt about it! Watch out, TurboScooter!

I got my Hot Scoot for Christmas and at the same time we had one of the worst ice storms that Arkansas has seen. Well, I couldn't wait to ride so out I went.  I have been riding it ever since--ice, snow over ice, packed snow, slush, rain , and dry pavement.  It tracks well even on ice but you have to be a little careful on the turns as you can imagine. I didn't have any trouble on the rest. There was one time that I was riding on the snow-covered street full-throttle and came up on a place where they were working on a ruptured water main.  There was solid ice and I couldn't stop. I coasted thru but I fish-tailed a little- made me a little nervous.  My point is that the Hot Scoot is a very stable ride.

Well, today I took the Batmobile (Hot Scoot) in to work for its first official commuter run. There were quite a number of hills and some beautiful drops with long run outs on my route in. Really sweet. Most of the time when I looked down at my speedo, I was exceeding 20mph. On the big drop, I was going 30+, and feeling totally stable. I mean, sure, you don't want to take your hands off the bars at that speed, but it felt totally controlled.

These tires are amazing! I can't stress that enough. You can do monster side loading with these puppies. I'd have wrecked a dozen times over trying to do this kind of stuff on the Zappy wheelbarrow or Y2Z tires.

I got to pass about a dozen cars in one stretch as they were backed up in a traffic snarl. Sweeeet. I'd get in trouble for doing that on my motorcycle. Heh heh heh. The route was 4.5 miles all the way into work and that was taking the fastest route possible. Some short steep 1-2 block hills, and a long 5 block hill. Batmobile was still pushing past 15.5mph when I pulled up at the office.

I have to say that Badsey does have great customer service. I read some very negative feedback about Badsey's customer service on the zappy@egroup and was a little worried.

I am VERY happy that Badsey proved them wrong!

Its great to buy a superior product from a company that is still concerned about they're customers satisfaction and not just selling their product.

Thank you again!
Frances

We just got finished testing the Hot Scoot and the EMX racer with Bikefactory in Hawaii.

The scooters are phenominal! No scooter dealership would be complete without your scooters.

I'd like to apply for a Badsey dealership for the Islands, along with our other fine products. What are our chances of getting approved,  as we already have one Badsey dealer in town?

Our sales are solely dedicated to scooters and accessories.
Thanks so much,

I have one, it's a racer (red).

Likes; looks bitchen / very fast
Dislikes;geared too high (slow wind up 1st 5 ft) brakes aren't very good. Tires are so fat it wants to pitch you when entering a drive way

I put a larger gear in the rear (7 teeth). It now rips out of the hole & the motor doesn't over heat anymore. Can't turn too sharp to the left (hits the sprocket) oh well- ok trade off a least it won't burn up the motor.

Top speed is about 28 to 30 mph was about 35 mph (before I lowered the gear ratio). Would I sell it? Hell no, still the badest scooter built! It takes awhile to get use to the throttle & tires, also standing so high off the ground. The best wheelie machine made.

I did the final test on my Hot Scoot which is the distance test at full throttle. The test would end when it went below 10mph. It was able to go 8.3 miles. It took me exactly 30 minutes to go 8 miles. My average speed for the first 6.5 miles was 16.6mph and 15.7mph for the whole trip. My max speed was 18.0mph and the whole trip took 31.41 minutes. The wind was minimal, the course was flat and no stops. My weight is 190lbs. I had  used and recharged the Hot Scoot an minimum of 5 times before this test.
